Demasted
20 to 25 knot winds with 30 knot gusts ripped the mast off in 6 feet of water with very short steep waves just as the engine was conking out. Frank got the anchor out and it held while we retrived the mast and rigging. and I thought paddling was an adventure!!
Maiden voyage of Maya
She is looking good. I worked day after day to make her ready to live on. Frank and I launched from the South Dade Marina heading for the Caribian Club. Yeah!!!

Made it to Key Largo!
With Darleen, (my truck) it was touch and go the whole way. My sailboat goes into the water on Monday. Today was the first time I saw it in person. Its going to be a lot of work but I can't wait to start living on her. I start work at FBO tomorrow. Picture of the day is Frank and Jamie in front of FBO in Hobie Sailing Kayaks called Adventure Island.

On my way to Maryland
Had hoped to see Steve and Melissa but the trailer took much longer to close up. Sorry guys. In some motel between Bangor and Augusta. Not even sure what town. Darline RIDES AGAIN, (Topher's truck er I mean my truck). We'll see how many miles are left in the old girl! Scary traveling with no cap on the truck. Can't lock a blue tarp!

Last Trip in Maine this year.
Took 4 people out. Had an incredible drift through the seal ledges! It was as if they were saying goodbye. for 40 minutes there was always several seals in sight and they followed us for some time afterward. Jumping and cavorting a couple youngsters surfaced next to me and I swear they smiled. I LOVE my office. This was truly special! The paddlers were Trish and Eddie from Louisville Ky, and newlyweds Scott and Melissa from Grand Rapids Mi. In Maine this Summer I had the privledge of paddling with 943 people and paddling about 600 miles to earn my nut.

Great day in Maine
Perfect weather! Walked up Acadia Mt this morning. Then took out 12 cool people, Mark and Tandy from Co, Matt and Anna from Rockville MD, Nicky and Kathy who grew up in Parkville MD, Mike from Toronto and his Dad Stan a local from MDI, David and Alison from London England, and Rob and Katrina paddlers from Kingston Ont who have been to King Lake many times. We paddled from Bartletts Landing to Clark Cove about 6 miles. We saw tons of seal hauled out and found an enormous sea star. Had so much to see and I was having so much fun that we were late. I'm never late. COOL!

Took 6 people out in Blue hill bay today. Bill and Joan from Ontario, Scott and Tamara from Leesburg VA and Richard and Annie from Boston. Beautiful day on the water. Loads of wildlife and great people who all were paddlers. Got to just relax and paddle. Doesn't get any better! Bartletts Landiing to Seal Cove.

The season is winding down in Maine
Its been a tough year. Bad weather June and July kept people away. Looking forward to a great winter in the Keys with my friends at Florida Bay Outfitters.
